    The main objectives of mutual work are to ensure the observance of the IOC Olympic Charter, to protect the rights of athletes, coaches and other specialists in the field of sport and to support the development of grassroots and elite sport in both countries.

    The parties agreed to carry out joint activities on the organization of bilateral competitions and training, as well as to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of scientific and technical assistance to sports movement. In addition, the Memorandum envisages the exchange of information and consultations between coaches, medical and sports personnel, teams and athletes from all sports.

    The president of the NOC of Bahrain thanked his Russian colleagues for the opportunity to sign this memorandum, noting that Russia is one of the recognized world leaders in the field of sport, and for Bahrain it is important and valuable to have substantive, practical cooperation with the ROC. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa underlined that Bahrain has been actively developing handball, swimming, soccer, fencing and other sports in recent years. Traditionally, special attention in the country is paid to martial arts, where the Russian coaching is leading in the global arena.

    Stanislav Pozdnyakov, in turn, said that the ROC is ready to support colleagues from Bahrain in the training of coaches, referees and other personnel. In addition, the ROC President underlined that Russia can offer its training camps to Bahraini athletes in preparation for the Olympic Games in Paris.
