The President of the Russian Olympic Committee took part in the opening ceremony of the 4th World Hockey Forum.
– In December, in the run-up to the New Year celebrations, we always host a representative hockey tournament that draws particular interest from fans due to its rich history. It used to be called the “Izvestiy Prize”, now it has been renamed Channel One Cup. But before everyone enjoys a great hockey game among the best teams of Europe, many important issues will be discussed for several days.
High on the agenda are almost all relevant aspects and issues of world hockey. Presentations and discussions will be held on interesting topics such as rule changes and their impact on the game’s appeal, a unified code of refereeing, the development of youth hockey, the introduction of new technologies when training hockey players, as well as the progress of women’s hockey.
The World Hockey Forum is being held in Moscow for the fourth time. I am sure that such events are extremely important, first of all, from the viewpoint of experience exchange, improving sports cooperation between countries and finding the best solutions for further hockey development in modern conditions, – Stanislav Pozdnyakov noted in his speech.
The Forum was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov, IIHF President René Fasel and President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak.
