The all-Russian tour of the XXIX Olympic scientific session of young scientists and students “Olympism, the Olympic movement, the Olympic Games (history and our times)”, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Russian athletes’ participation in the Olympic Games completed its work in the eve of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang (Republic of Korea) on the Day of Russian Science.
The event was organized by the ROC, the Central Olympic Academy, Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sport, Youth and Tourism, with the support of the Charity Fund “Art, Science and Sport” founded by Russian entrepreneur and philanthropist Alisher Usmanov to support socially significant events in the field of art, culture and sports and implement scientific-educational and social projects on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Students, postgraduates and young scientists, winners of the university and regional stages of the session from 13 subjects of the Russian Federation (cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Voronezh, Moscow, Omsk, Pskov, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, Krasnodar territory, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra) took part in the hearings held on February 7 and 8, 2018 in the hall of the country’s central sports university.
In accordance with the jury decision first place in the creativity competition went to Polina Ivashova, representing the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sport Youth and Tourism, the second place went to Gusel Aktuganova of the Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture, and Evgeniy Passudikhin from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture became third.
Thi winners of the young scientists competition: Ekaterina Gorohova, representing Kuban State University (1st place), Andrey Brovkin – Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture (2nd place) and Viktoria Ivanova – Velikoluksk State Academy (3rd place).
At the closing ceremony of the session all participants of the final round received certificates of the ROC and memorable gifts. In addition the above mentioned prizewinners of the creativity competitions received cash bonuses, and those who won 1st places – Polina Ivashova and Ekaterina Gorokhova were granted the right to speak on behalf of Russia at the 58th international session to be held in Olympia (Greece) in June 2018.
