On November 3, Thomas Bach, the IOC President, gathered the leaders of the Olympic Movement at the Olympic Summit in Lausanne (Switzerland) to discuss the most pressing issues such as the sports calendar oversaturation, the fight against doping, the fight against match-fixing and the autonomy of sport. Alexandr Zhukov, the ROC President, took an active part in discussions on these issues, denoting their importance for Russia.

On Sunday, November 3, Thomas Bach, the IOC President, brought together leaders of the Olympic Movement at the Olympic Summit in Lausanne (Switzerland) to discuss the most topical issues in the field of sports. At the beginning of the session, Mr. Bach thanked Alexander Zhukov, the ROC President, and the Organizing Committee “Sochi-2014” for the excellent organization.
The delegation of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), headed by Vladimir Sengleev, the Executive Director, inspected the Olympic Villages. During their visit to the capital of the XXII Olympic Winter Games the ROC representatives took a close look at the accommodations for the Russian Olympic teams in the three Olympic villages – one coastal and two in the mountains.
The Conference will last until November 1. Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Aleksandr Zhukov, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Dmitrii Kozak, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the Russian Federation and Sergei Donskoi, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, will take part in the Conference.
A Regional Forum of the National Olympic Committees of the CIS Countries, Georgia and the Baltic States was finished on Thursday, October 10, in Almaty (Kazakhstan). During two days the leaders of the National Olympic Committees of the former Soviet Republics exchanged their work experiences in the sphere of the Olympic movement development.
The Congress of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) took place in St. Petersburg on October 5. A record number of countries took part. Two hundred and seven delegates from ninety National Sambo Federations, representing five continents were present.
The election of the Athletes’ Commission was the centerpiece of the IV Athletes’ Assembly of the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC), that was held October 4-5 in Porec (Croatia). The Russian Olympic Committee was represented by Olga Brusnikina, the Chairman of the ROC Athletes’ Commission.
