  • On June 5, President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov met with the Deputy Director General of the International Olympic Committee Pere Miro. In the course of negotiations at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, the head of the ROC, presented the strategic plan for the period until 2020. They also discussed, how the IOC and the Olympic solidarity could help implement this plan.

    In addition, Stanislav Pozdnyakov paid a Protocol visit to the Chairman of the Olympic Solidarity Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah, during which they agreed to sign the agreement between the ROC and the Olympic Solidarity in 2018.

    President of the ROC informed the IOC about the Forum of Young Olympians held in Moscow on June 1, which was attended by 330 young athletes. Most of them will perform at the III Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires this autumn.

    The anti-doping forum was held with support of the Olympic Solidarity. Representatives of the WADA, regional anti-doping organizations of Central Asia and  the RUSADA delivered speeches at the conference. It is planned to hold such events annually.

    ‘The goal of the ROC is to make sure that the athletes’ sports careers do not depend on doping. Fight against doping will be our priority in the coming years’,  said Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
