A regular meeting of the Athletes’ Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), chaired by Olympic fencing champion Sofya Velikaya, was held via online conference.
The main item on the agenda was the discussion of a draft new version of the Regulations governing the Commission’s activities, as well as the upcoming elections of the new composition of the Commission. The elections are planned to take place next year after the conclusion of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Due to new restrictions related to the spread of COVID-19, the ROC has decided to hold the extended meeting of the ROC Athletes’ Commission in a videoconference format at the end of November or early December. In this regard, members of the Commission discussed the agenda of the upcoming videoconference and the topics that may be of the greatest interest and relevance to Russian athletes.
The Athletes’ Commission also discussed the upcoming Athlete365 Career+ seminar “Power Up Your Future,” which will be held online from October 27 to 30. Its main goal is to support athletes in their social adaptation following the end of their sporting careers.
