Members of the ROC Athletes' Commission discussed the 2022 Games with representatives of the OSF

The President of the Constitutional Court, two–time Olympic fencing champion Sofia Velikaya, congratulated the athletes on the completion of the selection for the Games and noted that the Olympic Games are a grand celebration and the brightest moment in the career of each of them.

"We at the Athletes' Commission suggested that the ROC organize this video call so that all athletes would have the opportunity to get important first–hand information and ask questions," said Sofya Velikaya.

She recalled that the 2022 Games will be held in difficult conditions, so it is important to know and follow the rules provided in the Manuals for the safe conduct of these competitions. In addition, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court shared her experience gained at the Tokyo Games.

During the video conference, representatives of the Russian Olympic Committee drew the athletes' attention to some important nuances. Thus, Konstantin Vybornov, Head of the ROC Information Service and Press Secretary, spoke about the intricacies of interaction with the media, Viktor Berezov, Deputy Head of the ROC Legal Department, elaborated on the current restrictions on the use of state symbols and the key requirements of Rules 40 and 50 of the Olympic Charter.

Ilya Popov, Chief Expert of the Olympic Delegation Support Group of the ROC General Directorate, and Alexey Slautin, Head of the ROC International Relations Department, answered questions from ROC Team members about the anti-epidemic rules in force in China.

Alexandra Tereikovskaya, a lawyer at the Department for Legal Assistance in Ensuring the purity of Sports of the ROC Legal Department, informed the participants of the videoconference about the IOC rules on preventing unlawful influence on the results of sports competitions.

Ekaterina Gorokhova, Chief Specialist of the International Relations Department, Secretary of the Constitutional Court, recalled that elections to the IOC Athletes' Commission will be held within the framework of the Olympic Games in Beijing. Each athlete will be able to vote for two candidates at once. She also spoke about the proposals that the IOC has prepared specifically for Olympians as part of the Athlete365 program.
