The Olympic Meeting expressed its gratitude to the ROC Innovation Center for scientific and methodological support for the training of athletes, and to the Russian International Olympic University for assistance in implementing educational programs aimed at training specialists in the field of sports and the Olympic movement.
The Olympic Meeting recommended that All-Russia sports federations, regional Olympic councils, and sports organizations continue to actively participate in the implementation of key areas of the ROC Strategy.

The honorary diploma of the President of the Russian Federation was awarded to the head of the ROC Legal Department, Alexandra Brilliantova.
– On behalf of the Ministry of Sports and on my own behalf, I would like to thank the Russian Olympic Committee and all colleagues for their collaboration. It was a difficult year, but we remained united. That’s the thing. And despite all the difficulties, we continue to work on solving the tasks set by the President of Russia in the field of physical culture and sports development, said Oleg Matytsyn.
ROC Honorary President Vitaly Smirnov announced the completion of filming of the documentary series “Games and People” dedicated to the Olympic history of the country. A 12-episode series about the main victories of Soviet and Russian sports is already available on an online platform.
Vladimir Kozhin, ROC Vice President, said that next February the All-Russia Winter Olympic Sports Games will be held in Sochi, which will be timed to the 10th anniversary of the XXII Olympic Winter Games.
A scheduled meeting of the ROC Executive Committee was also held before the Olympic Meeting, where the organization’s financial plan for 2024 was approved and a decision was made to award a large group of representatives of the sports industry with the ROC Badge of Honor “For merits in the development of the Olympic movement in Russia”.
Following the results of the Olympic Meeting, the ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov answered questions from journalists.
– Together with the All-Russia sports federations, Olympic councils and academies, we discussed the results of the year and discussed plans for the future. The most important result of 2023 is that the Russian Olympic Committee remains a full-fledged organization trusted by our members and partners. We are moving forward together, making plans and building the current agenda.
This year, the ROC has built its international presence on the basis of bilateral cooperation with those foreign NOCs and sports organizations that respect and comply with the Olympic Charter. Of course, we cannot say that the current situation has not affected us. Nevertheless, we look into the future with confidence.
Today, I have also given my account on the actions of the IOC, which, with its unconstructive position towards the ROC and the entire Russian sport, continues to split the Olympic family, threatening its integrity. We urge our colleagues from Lausanne to disavow their own recommendations, fully restore the rights of ROC, and follow the path that the founder of the modern Olympic movement, Baron de Coubertin, dreamed of – to make our imperfect world a better place through the peaceful and creative mission of sport.
