ROC and NOC athletes' commissions to hold joint meeting in Minsk

At the moment, the parties are forming practical proposals to expand cooperation in all major areas of the Olympic agenda — competitive, educational, scientific, methodological, and innovative.

An important place is occupied by the discussion of joint projects in the field of anti-doping and in the field of youth sports. In particular, the members of the ROC Athletes' Commission received an offer from their colleagues to participate in the National Athletes' Forum in Minsk. And the Russian side will send an official invitation to the Belarusian National Olympic Committee to the Forum of Young Olympians, which will traditionally be held in Moscow on June 1 on World Children's Day. The heads of the Olympic Committees of the two countries, Stanislav Pozdnyakov and Viktor Lukashenko, are expected to participate in the events.

Stanislav Pozdnyakov:

– Recently, one of the key principles of the Olympic movement has increasingly come to the fore — together. Unfortunately, it is interpreted and applied in practice in different ways, but we are absolutely convinced that the future of the sports movement lies only in unity. As part of our cooperation with colleagues from the Republic of Belarus, we have already begun to form a new model of mutual integration within the framework of joint projects, the purpose of which is to defend the interests of our athletes, create all the necessary conditions for their professional realization and, using the example of their victories and achievements, ensure the maximum involvement of children and youth in physical education and sports. Not only for the sake of high achievements, but also on a mass, amateur level. I am sure that the experience of the members of the Athletes' Commissions will play a very significant role here. We will be happy to take part in the events in Minsk and are always glad to see colleagues from the Republic of Belarus and from other countries at our Forum of Young Olympians.
