Within the opening ceremony of the V Young Olympians International Forum, the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency RUSADA signed an Agreement on Funding Anti-Doping Testing for Young Athletes.
Vladimir Sengleev, ROC’s General Director:
– Five years ago, when the ROC first organized the Young Olympians International Forum, its main task was to bring anti-doping work with young athletes to a new level. Today we can state that a lot has already been done, we are moving in the right direction.
I would like to note that without the active participation of the All-Russian Sports Federations and, of course, RUSADA in this process, it is difficult to talk about the efficient formation of the Olympic reserve.
The ROC has always helped and will continue to help in conducting anti-doping activities at any venues. Sport, including youth sport, must be clean, and victory must be fair.
Veronika Loginova, RUSADA’s General Director:
– First of all, I would like to once again thank the Russian Olympic Committee for its huge contribution to the implementation of the national anti-doping program. RUSADA has repeatedly received positive assessments of its educational activities we conduct, including in cooperation with the ROC.
The agreement signed today will make it possible to pay even more attention to the testing of young athletes. Our goal is not punishment, but ensuring the right of athletes to clean sports and guaranteeing their health.
Today, as part of interactive and other events of the Forum, we will talk a lot about the true values of sport. For those who take part in this event for the first time, I would like to say that RUSADA is always open to cooperation and is ready to share its expertise in implementing educational programs.
