The decree on awarding state honors has been published on the website of the President of Russia.
By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On Awarding State Honors of the Russian Federation” No. 620 dated August 17, 2023, President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov has been awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his contribution to the development of physical culture and sports, as well as his many years of dedicated work.
Stanislav Alexeyevich Pozdnyakov, a four-time Olympic champion in fencing, has been serving as the President of the Russian Olympic Committee since May 2018. In December 2022, he was unanimously re-elected by the Olympic Assembly, the highest governing body of the Russian Olympic Committee, for the next four-year term.
The Order of Alexander Nevsky is awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation for their exceptional personal contributions to their homeland, their many years of diligent service, and their outstanding achievements in the performance of their official duties. It is also awarded to individuals who have contributed to enhancing Russia’s international reputation, the development of state and socially significant sectors, as well as those who have achieved high personal accomplishments in various fields of socially beneficial activities.
